Underarm Perspiration

Excessive sweating – also known as hyperhidrosis – is a common problem that affects both men and women.

Botox injections can be a safe & effective solution. By injecting low doses of product – typically into the underarm – nerves that stimulate sweat production can be temporarily blocked, preventing the occurrence of uncomfortable and often embarrassing sweat marks.

The treatment takes a short amount of time to carry out and results will typically last between three and eight months.

What to expect during treatment

Just like anti-wrinkle injections, the treatment is completed in a short amount of time. Dr Dodd will inject the product into the underarm using a number of needles. Some people feel no pain, whereas others may experience slight discomfort as the needle touches the skin. If this is the case, the feeling is transient.

Is it right for me?

During your consultation, Dr Dodd will ask a little more about your background, as well as discussing the amount you tend to sweat on a daily basis. This will enable him to assess your suitability for the treatment and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

What happens afterwards?

There is very little downtime with this treatment, and you’re unlikely to feel any pain or discomfort. A small amount of bruising may appear around the treated areas, but this is likely to be minor and should disappear rapidly. You should be able to notice a difference after around five days.
